With any prestigious awards ceremony, all the ladies know that their choice of attire will be studied, scrutinised and praised or slated.
But it could also mean the chance to raise their profile, especially if their outfit stands out from the crowd – which seemed to be the case at this year's Golden Globes.
From cleavages that looked in danger of escaping, to thigh high splits flashing lots of leg, there were some very daring dresses on display this year.

Those ladies who have been blessed with buxom assets had no hesitation in showing them off.

Salma Hayek, another star known for her ample assets struggled to contain hers in her very tight dress as she posed on the red carpet.
And probably the most audacious of
them all was on – or barely on – model Erin Wasson, who may not be one
of the biggest names in the industry but she certainly set tongues
wagging last night.

The Pirelli model arrived at the InStyle magazine bash in a show-stopping, attention-grabbing outfit which looked more suited to an erotic nightclub than a Golden Globes after-party, guaranteeing her maximum exposure.
Her outfit clung to her tall and slender
frame and showed off her long legs – but did absolutely nothing for her
flat chest and just highlighted her lack of assets in the wrong way.
Even Sean 'P Diddy' Combs looked
astonished as he walked past Erin on the red carpet but it was hard to
tell whether his glance in her direction was one of admiration or shock.

although Erin's dress, which left very little to the imagination, might
have been the most daring, her lack of assets left her in the shade
compared to her more buxom fellow guests.

star Jamie-Lynn Sigler, for instance, wore an off-the-shoulder black
dress which was stunning and elegant but struggled to contain her
assets.

Reality TV star Kim Kardashian also wore a low cut black dress, which plumped up her impressive bosom to perfection.
But even those who don't have much to show up top still managed to impress with their necklines.
