When Katie met Paxman: Ms Price discusses her implants on Newsnight… but she's back to her scantily-clad best at party afterwards
She's an unlikely guest on a show known for its in-depth analysis of current events.
But when breast implants is the topic, Katie Price is your woman.
The 33-year-old joined a Newsnight debate last night about the controversial PIP implants.
The perfect guest: Katie Price joined a debate on the controversial PIP implants on Newsnight last night
Speaking alongside Health Minister Anne Milton and a dozen other women worried about their own implants, the glamour model told respected host Jeremy Paxman she thought there should be an age limit on boob jobs.
Katie had three breast enlargements – her first at age 18 – before having them reduced after having children.
'If I had my way, I think there should be
an age limit for a start,' she told the BBC2 programme.
'I think they should up it to 21. I had my
first boob job at 18 and realistically I think that's a bit too young.
Holding her own: Katie joined Health Minister Anne Milton and a dozen other women worried about their own implants
The hard questions: Newsnight host Jeremy Paxman, one of TV's toughest interviewers, asked if Katie's breast implants had made her happy
Paxman asked her: 'You don't counsel against it You don't say it's a risky procedure'
She replied; 'I
think any procedure is risky. Of course it is. You're going under the
knife, it's anaesthetic and I think people should know, whether it's a
boob job or any cosmetic surgery, if you're going under the knife, it is
a big risk.'
Paxman then asked if the surgeries had made her happy.
Katie replied: 'I've
had bad experiences with it and I was recommended to who I thought was
the best doctor and it's not always the case that you go to the best
doctor and you get the best boob job.
That didn't last long! After the show, Katie went clubbing in London wearing a tiny black leather skirt
It needs more inches! She struggled to protect her modest in the skimpy number, which she paired with leather leg warmers and towering black heels
'It's all about your body and how
your body takes to… at the end of the day having implants it's
foreign. Anything foreign you put in your body, your body can naturally
reject it. But I would say I'm happy with them. I should be now, I've
had enough done.
trouble is… when i first had my implants, I always knew I wanted them
bigger, so it took me three sizes to get to the size I wanted.
'If they'd done the size that i wanted in the beginning, I would have been happy.'
Paxman asked: 'Then you made them smaller, didn't you'
Katie said: 'Because I'd had three kids and anyone, even if you've got natural boobs, they drop.'
Hear me roar! Around 40,000 women in the UK received implants manufactured by the now-closed French company Poly Implant Prostheses (PIP).
They were filled with non-medical grade silicone intended for use in mattresses.
Mother-of-three Katie, who said she
did not believe she had PIP implants, had tweeted earlier: 'The pricey
is looking forward to
meeting the paxman for a serious debate that affects many women.'
Her highbrow appearance follows a visit to Cambridge University last month where she won a debate about feminism against Rachel Johnson – Boris Johnson’s Oxford-educated sister and editor-in-chief of The Lady magazine.
Best night of his life! The fan wraps his arm around the mother-of-three's waist with a massive smile on his face
Making her way through the crowd: The blonde star must have been freezing in the chilly London weather as she ventured out without a coat
A former Page Three girl with not a single GCSE to her name, Katie did not crumble against privately-schooled Rachel, despite forgetting her lines and swearing occasionally.
Rachel, 46, was supposed to be part of a team arguing for the motion that ‘the only limit to female success is female ambition’. But she seemed far more interested in taking swipes at her famous opponent than advancing her case.
At one point she told her audience, ‘The sky is the limit’ – before turning to Price and commenting: ‘Or in your case, a ten-part series on Sky called “Katie”.’
Later, referring to the model’s several ghost-written novels, she said sarcastically: ‘Katie Price’s novels are for true lovers of literature.’
Enjoying the attention: Katie's friend looked a little shy in the back of the taxi, but the glamour model is no shrinking violet
Spectators craned their necks to see
how the 33-year-old glamour model – formerly known as Jordan – would
react to Miss Johnson’s remarks. But she refused to rise to the bait –
and ended up winning a landslide victory of 497 votes to Rachel's.
But after the show, Katie was back to what she does best – flaunting her figure in barely any clothing.

She was accosted by an over-eager fan while leaving the club, but she didn't seem to mind, letting the man hug her.
A burly bodyguard was on hand to protect the model if things got out of hand.
Katie wore a tiny black leather skirt, trying hard to protect her modesty as she exited the taxi.
She added a white Polyvore T-shirt, with the words 'Secret Revelry' printed on the front, a pair of leather leg warmers and towering heels to complete the ensemble.
